  1. Here's today's weird question--has anyone have any thoughts about putting a snow blade on a 87 Kawasaki bayou 300? My kid is thinking about using my bayou and I'm thinking it's too much money and time to do that. It ha to have a mount, winch, and all that goes with it.
  2. Anyone know why Google play store no longer has the app for here? I even tried the "add quadcrazy to home screen" button with no success
  3. Haven't been there yet, but several trails west of Colorado springs/woodland park area.
  4. I set the shoes up today, enough to put drag on the drums, did another bleed, lo and behold, I have pressure at the handle. Thanks for the tips and the education.
  5. That's one I didn't do, adjust the shoes up. I'll try that .
  6. 87 klf 300a no brake handle pressure. I've replaced the master cylinder, vacuum bled both sides and am getting clear fluid out with no air bubbles. There are no signs of fluid leaking anywhere, but still cannot get handle pressure. I pulled the hubs to check the shoes and cylinders and all looks normal. This system was dry when i bought the machine, but dont know for how long. Any suggestions to where I should look next?? I'm baffled.
  7. Thanks, 14mm is the size of the nut--10mm threaded hole. I won't need them for a few days, tie rod ends need replaced along with brakes. Ridiculous how tight these are
  8. I did some more digging, the best info I could find is nut size is 10×1.25 flat seat. How close am I with this info?
  9. Heres today's silly question--what is the size of the lug nuts? I tried to pull the front wheels off and all the nuts are on so tight that they rounded off. I have a nut extractor kit coming but will need to but new lug nuts. Thanks Previous post is meant for 87 klf300a
  10. 1987 bayou 300, klf300a, I'm having trouble finding cables for the rear brakes. Anyone have any advice? Thanks.
  11. I've changed direction, the Chinese quad with the stuck flywheel and the bad carbs has gone to a new home. It's been replaced with a 98 artic cat 454 that runs great. Thanks for all the help on the previous project.
  12. Appreciate it, I'll go a step at a time. I agree that they were worked on before, silicone used where gaskets should be. What's a good cleaning fluid to use?
  13. Longchang chinese atv, little or no info available.
  14. It's a atv my neighbor "donated " to me. I've sorted out most of the electrical issues and am moving on to see if it will run. I've got it to fire with ether, and ran into carb issues trying with fuel.
  15. Are these rebuildable? Keihin N98FRAZ stamped on side, 26.15mm throat.

  17. Thanks, I'm not real familiar with carburetor works, but that makes sense. This machine hasn't run for a long time so I bet the carbs are gummed up.
  18. Time for another question from a rookie......I got spark to both cylinders and put a splash of gas in the tank to see if I could get the engine to fire, it does with a shot of ether so I want to try gas. When the gas reached the carbs, it flowed straight through. I'm thinking of replacing both carbs but not sure I can find exact replacements. Any thoughts about this ? Thanks!!
  19. I traced wires from cdi and found a connector from the stator where the green/white and blue/white wires were reversed. Swapped them to match, pulled both plugs and have continuous spark on both sides. Gave it a shot of ether and it fired up. I'll continue to check the wiring mainly because I've found several wires that are cracked and a couple that got hot a are stuck together. Thanks for the help, I seem to be making progress.
  20. Will try that tomorrow, thanks again.
  21. Found out the green/red wire is neutral switch by bypassing it. This gave me spark but only for a second then stops. If I shut off key and turn back on it once again sparks for a second then quits. I'm checking wiring today to see if I can get it to spark consistently
  22. its a new cdi. After replacing both coils, new plugs, new cdi, new regulator I finally got spark, but only for a second and then it quit sparking. I did this numerous times and each time it only sparked for a second and then quit. That was before I saw the cut wire. I'll trace the wires and make note of their resistance and try your suggestions. One step forward and two steps back on this project. Good thing I'm retired and have the time and patience for this ordeal. Thanks for all the help.
