  1. Well so far I am loving the YFZ but I have only had it out on the lake in the snow. And the 4stroke torque is amazing. I did love the banshee but I like the ability to ride out of any gear at any time with out having to keep the RPM's up all the time. I am also 10 years older and much lazier so that might have alot to do with my bias.
  2. AJMBOY I will try to get some pics up tomorrow. Every time I got home from work this week it was to dark to take pics. But we will be on the lake tomorrow for sure. Its supposed to be a balmy 10 degrees so should be fun.
  3. I finally got a new quad after going 11 years since I sold my banshee. I went and purchased a 05 YFZ 450 from a guy about 1 mile away from me that I found on craigslist. I paid $1800 for it. Its bone stock just like I wanted and is in fantastic condition. I took it out on the lake tonight and wow I did not realize how much I missed having a quad. So I now have a quad for my son and myself and now I have to find the wife one real soon as I think she put more time on the thing tonight than I did. Any ways if anyone is in south east Michigan and close to Oakland county hit me up I have the lake right out my back door and your more than welcome to come over and ride.
  4. Dirt Demon you are exactly correct. I was hooking it up between the stator and the CDI and not between the voltage regulator and the stator. As I did not discover the other connector until I pulled all of the plastics off and started tracing wires to look for a bad ground. In the middle of doing this I also found a loose connection on the stator so it was not a complete wast of time. All is good and working perfect. Now all we have to do is wait for it to get cold again and night time to see how good they work. I was told that if I stay less that 80% of the total output that I should be ok. But I was told by one person that it is 70 watts and read else where that it is only 32 watts. None of the dealerships will help me out as all of them just want me to bring in the quad so they can charge $85 an hour and break me.
  5. well I got it fixed. I was a bad ground behind the stator. They work perfectly now. My next question is does anyone know the exact wattage out put on these models as I have 2 12watt bulbs in there but would love to bump it up as much as I can. Thanks again
  6. yes its wired correctly. Its just has two plugs that plug in between the stator plug like the directions said. I got the lights from Power Sports and Marine in Minnesota. I got the part number directly from Polaris. I was unable to find any PDF online also to double check but after going through all of the options on the quad there are only two plugs that would work with the harness that came with the lights. Polaris said its a plug and play installation when I asked for the part number but there 800 number was unable to help me with the issue I am having.
  7. Just thought I would say Hello and introduce myself. I am from Metro Detroit and have been into ATV's for almost 20 years on and off. I had to sell my last 2 ATV's (98 Banshee and 98 blaster) about 11 years ago due to starting a family and now that my son is old enough to enjoy it with my wife and I we are all getting quads again so we can have fun as a family with a common interest. I myself am looking to get a YFZ450 or LTR450 and for my Wife a TRX250/300, Raptor 250, or LTZ250 with in the next 2-3 weeks. Anyways I really like this website and hope to have a lot of fun and good times on here. Thanks and have a great day.
  8. Hello my son has a Predator 90 that we just purchased the Daytime Running Lights Kit for. It is Polaris's own kit so this is not an aftermarket kit. I installed the kit and the wiring harness which is just a jumper that plugs into the stator wires and goes directly to the lights. The issue I am having is the lights are not getting bright at all. When I take the bulbs out and hook them directly to the battery the are fine but when I but them back in to the socket they go as dim as a lighter flame and that is not an exaggeration. I was told by a dealership that the stator on the 03 predator 90 should put out 70 watts and this kit has only two 5 watt bulbs so I am not over powering the stator. is it safe to assume that I have a ground issue? If not what are some things I should try to get these day time running lights to work properly? Oh I also for got an important issue. Sometimes the quad will not start if both bulbs are in the sockets. If I take one out it starts and while it running if I try to put the other bulb back in the machine dies like I pushed the kill switch. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time in advance.
