Yes, women love to ride! I even have my 5 year old girl and 10 year old boy on their own quads... It is as safe as you keep it.... JMHO

Danville plans hero's welcome for pilot

DANVILLE — Town officials plan on hosting a downtown Danville welcome back party Saturday for celebrated pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenburger III, said Mayor Newell Arnerich.

Sullenberger steered a US Airways jet into the Hudson River on Thursday after the plane reportedly struck a flock of geese, crippling its engines.

The safe landing and rescue of all 155 passengers and crew attracted international attention to the Danville pilot and an invitation to the Tuesday inauguration of incoming President Barack Obama. The pilot's wife, Lorraine, and their two daughters are scheduled to join him at the inauguration ceremonies.

When they return home later this week, and after they have a moment to relax, town officials said they want to have a party for the family in the Old Town area. Plans for the community celebration have not been finalized.

Sullenberger has had a busy schedule since the Thursday water landing, spending much of Saturday recounting what happened to investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board, which examines the causes of all aircraft accidents.

The pilot was scheduled to make his first public interview on The Today Show this morning, but host Matt Lauer told viewers that the appearance was postponed.

The U.S. Airline Pilots Association, of which Sullenberger is a member, wrote a letter to the Sullenberger family's newly hired spokesman asking the family to halt all media activities for the time being.

Stephen Bradford, the union's president, wrote that the association has an "interested party" status with the national transportation board that allows it to participate in the investigation.

"If the NTSB perceives that we are in any way compromising the objectivity of the investigation by innocuously releasing information to the media, our status will be rescinded and we will be unable to help determine the causal factors leading up to this very positive and well-documented outcome," Bradford wrote.

Mwke , have you checked the laws to see if you need lights or reflecters on that. Kinda like the baggage racks have now that slide into the hitch.

My understanding is anything over 3 feet from the bumper needs flags during the day and lights at night... but I could be wrong...

Helmet, Goggles, riding pants or jeans (depends on what fits at the time) jersey, boots, gloves

This is the biggest group I have ridden with...

She would also ride in my golf cart when I had one! Now she will trot alongside as long as I don't go too far or too fast (she is 9 years old now)

My other German Shepherd Storm won't get near a running ATV, but will follow or run out to the side of my quad!

we have a new puppy!!! soooo now we have two babies, Riley and Jackson! Oh, and as if I don't talk about him enough in the other forums, I'm happily married to a RACERboy

He got me into quads and racing....we're the only married racing couple I know and I couldn't be more proud!

I see nothing wrong with voting for yourself... you can only vote 1 time! LOL But I think there should be a limit to how may times a person can win within a 12 month time frame... that seems like it would be more fair!

Ok I just did a couple of cold invites... on another forum I am a member of that has some quad riders... I don't know if they will actually sign up here, but I am trying. It won't show up in my invites, since I sent PMs to them since the menber lists don't show email addys unless the person says ok.

I meant no offense to anyone personally. I have no problem with a female being in the office. Just not one with an infant.

And the guy that her daughter is going to marry doesn't even want to marry her and doesn't want kids.

I doubt she feels any differently with an infant than she does with her son who is going off to war in Iraq.... Again, also no different than a father would for a teenage son or infant child. I just don't get that logic. And her daughter's life choice has nothing to do with the mother's job qualification, In My Humble Opinion.... I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this one.
