  1. I have a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700.The other day I has giong up a hill & the ATV acted like it was running out of gas.So I went to the reserve side of tank & still was popping, but only does after running a while like emptying carb bowl.

Does anyone have any ideas of whats wrong?Sprayed carb cleaner in intake.

You think maybe float stuck down?

Any help will be greatly apreciated!

  2. Help!

Have an 02 Kawasaki Prairie 650.I replaced the belt & when I put everything back together the 2wd-4wd lights would flash back & forth.

I read how to reset light, but my ATV doesnt have the black & gray wire connectors where they are supposed to be.

Anyone know how to reset lights on this model?

  3. HELP!!

Can someone tell me where I can find the instrument cluster for an 02 Kawasaki Prairie 650?Has 2 connectors, where 03 & up have 1.Cluster has fuel, speedo, clock, odometers,& lights.Mine stopped working this past weekend.:frown:

  4. :aargh:I have a 02 Kaw.Prairie 650 with around 2300mi. & 280hrs. on it.After alot of start&stop riding this weekend,the LED gauges stopped working.Still have neutral&reverse lights,but no odo,clock,speedometer,& fuel gauge.

What do you think went wrong & how can I fix?

  5. Take pics of groove and post. In fact, post a video so we can hear the squeal to better diagnose it. If your deflection is good, you might hear some squeal, and that is ok. You should not be hearing it in neutral however.

Will pull cover off when it cools up here.(91*).The drive belt is tight so you can hear a small squeal in neutral.Just riding you dont hear squeal.Try to climb a hill or take off hard :aargh: from a dead stop or pull something & belt squeals. The new belt I installed was #59011-0003.

Smoothed front drive pulley, but still hear squeal under pressure.

  6. Many people with that set up like the EPI almond secondary and maroon primary. The Kawasaki OEM belt is the most durable.

    Kawasaki belt number 59011-0019

Installed new belt,& the 2 springs you&others sugested.Still have squeal.Have belt a little tight.Drive pulley has grove it sheaves. Is there any way I can fix this without buying front pulley?

    Kawasaki belt number 59011-0019

    Installed new belt,,& Almond secondary spring.Under pressure the belt squealed on front pulley.Had 1.6mm & .06mm Shims.Deflection was within specs.Removed .06 spring & belt squealed when in gear.Read thats good,but I dont like the noise.Installed .03mm shim,& still squeals if I hold front brake.Deflection around .12mm.

Would the maroon front spring help this?Front spring feels weak.

  8. My prairie rairley pops ... Only if really cold choked... The carbs have to be in sync if not it can cause

It to pop like that... Also any air leaks in the system will cause it...

I would take it back and demand it to be fixed rite..

If not I would take him to small claims Cort and get my

Money back or atleast u could get some of it back

I have owned several of the Kawasaki v-twins an never had an issue

And I ride with a v-twin club and work on several of the machines

If u want to go to kawasaki forum they can also tell ya about it

I have raced mine and trail ride it and use it for work and hunting..

Get This:I called Kawasaki & explained my problem:aargh:.They said it was normal for those carbs.NORMAL?

Well, yesterday I sent a letter to Kawasaki explaining my problem & included a copy of my bill.Well see what comes up next!

I had a 04 Suzuki Twin Peaks(made by Kawasaki) that never did that.Am going to call Kawasaki Monday.Does anyone know the number to call to make sure I have the right one?(949-460-5688)Mechanic told me that was normal for Kawasaki to spit back through carb at certain RPM.

  10. The carbs need 2 be in sync and he should check the intakes and vacuum lines for any leaks

I have the same machine only a year newer and I know if any of the lines

Are bad or not hooked up rite it will do that,

The mechanic told me all Kawasaki Prairies do that.If so,how does Kawasaki sell these Prairies?

I just think after paying $950 to someone it should run right.I trail ride & hunt,& my normal throttle is 1/4-1/2 & thats where the problem is.
