So, I picked up a 87 Suzuki Quadrunner 250 4wd to do a few repairs.(Brake and throttle cables, brakes, air cleaner, etc.) We rolled it off the trailer, tried to start it and the battery was dead. Though it did crank a few times with the push button. I pulled it in the shop and finished the repairs, go to start it, and nothing.  I MEAN NOTHING, no headlights, no neutral light, nothing.  I assumed in changing the cables something had come unplugged, but i haven't found anything from front to back.  Battery is charged, connections are clean, but i have no voltage anywhere on the quad except on the battery side of the solenoid.  Checked fuses, and neutral relay and everything checks out. Trans is in neutral and rolls freely.  If I jump the solenoid, it will fire up, but I can't get anything from the push button start. Anyone have any ideas, something I've missed?

Turns out that the hot wire from the battery to the main fuse was gone. Now that I have power, on to the next issue. I was told that the carb had been "rebuilt", and that it idled way too high. Fired it up and sure enough, WIDE open. Went through the carb, blew everything out, still the same. Idle screw does nothing, adjusted the clip on the needle and nothing. Any thoughts?

I  searched  on  the revving  problem  and  found suggestions that  the  slide  could be  in  backward  or the crank seals could be  leaking  several   suggested the  crank seals were the  most likely  culprits. Here's where  I  found the discussion https://atvconnection.com/forums/suzuki/348745-1991-lt250r-reving-its-own.html

The thing is, it isn't a intermittent revving. From the moment it starts it's like having the throttle lever wide open. Just replaceth throttle cable, and it seems to be functioning as it should. It has the vacuum fuel pump, I've heard a lean condition can cause a high idle.

I am unable to find a wiring diagram for this UTV.  When I turn the switch to on, the contractor does not engage.  The Brake pressure switch and the parking brake switches work correctly. What else should I be looking for?  All of the diagrams I have found are for newer models and the wire color coding is different.

      Thanks

      Hello,

Pondering on what would be better in terms of practicality vs. money spent. The ATV will be a small 125 cc Chinese brand that can be fully contained in a small euro-van (VW Caddy)

      1. Load the ATV on a trailer while riding it.
Need to buy the ATV + hook + trailer (+ ramp?) and work on the car to mount the tow hook, of course.
Perhaps I can find a trailer than can do this -
Side question: what sort of mechanism that allows such loading is that, or, in other words, what sort of trailer am I looking for ?

      2. Load the ATV inside the mini-van.
Need to buy the ATV + ramp.
Also need to push it inside as riding it won't be possible. The thing will weight some 100 kilos, about 1.5 times my body weight. I shall go for the longest ramps that will fit into the van, but still, not sure I can push it in and pull it out of the van without cursing my life - if at all doable.

What do you guys think ?
