Honda quad engine number

Hi from a new member.  My wife's dad had an old 2X4 TRX250 that we now own.  I've been wanting to find out what year it is before I start trying to fix the kick start, that still springs back but doesn't turn the engine over.  The ID sticker is supposed to be on the front cross tube at the front ( there's a clean spot where the sticker's come off ) so all I have is the engine number,  TEO6E-5051060.  Any help with IDing the year and or suggestions about the kick start would be great!

The  VIN  should be stamped into  the tube,  not on a sticker.  You  may  need to  lightly  sand the  tube to  bring  it  up..  The  letters and numbers  are not stamped  very  deep.
