Vin number on Yamaha Moto 4

I recently bought a 1987 yamaha moto 4 200 with reverse. It’s changed hands a couple times. I’ve back tracked to the owner that might have had the owner ship. But he has passed away. I’ve been trying to pull the vin number off the frame. But it wore down and can’t make sense of it. Been on a website trying to figure it out. But can’t make sense of some of the numbers. My question is is there anywhere else the vin number would have been stamped. Or does anybody have any tricks for pulling the vin. I’ve tried several things but it is severely wore on the bottom part. Any ideas or suggestion would be greatly helpful.

If you can't make out the VIN on the frame, it may be difficult. If the original owner or anyone after that registered it with a state authority, you may be able to do a title search. Depends how the DMV is.
