Hey I just bought a can am renegade 800 X with a pretty aggressive tuner and 29.5 outlaws. I'm wondering how long I can expect it to last if it is well taken care of. All the usual wear items have been done and the quad has just under 3000km.

Thanks in advanceb6430727c752d7b755a4d32fb6dc96f9.jpg

Depends on how and where you ride it.  With a lot of mud and water use Can Am's don't do so well.  The wiring harness is ran terribly at the front and is bad about wearing holes in the harness, belts are garbage if they get wet.  They just aren't as reliable as a Honda.  However, they do haul as*.  Way more as* than a Honda.  So to answer the question: who knows.

It's ridin hard but well taken care of oil changes every spring and fall always washed after use. And I'm not scared to replace wear items before they are totally worn out. I also only run premium fuel in it.

Can't beat the giddyup of a Can Am.  Check out MudPuppy on Youtube for a run down of the issues he had with a XMR1000.  Can Ams all use the same harness and have common issues.  They're not bad at all, you just have to be prepared to do a lot of fixing if you really run them hard.

It was around that year they had a problem with cam chain guides wearing out. It would be nice to know if yours has the updated ones already.

Good idea to keep the u-joints greased regularly and keep an eye on the brake pads as they wear out quickly.

Has anyone had a suzuki 230 quad lock the engine up?  Its a well maintained bike, it locked up when my son was riding it. Pulled the plug, it has connected with the piston. I'm thinking the con rod let go.  I don't have a service manual.  Does the engine need to come out to check further?

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
