2003 Polaris 330 Magnum Piston hitting head

New to forum.  I aquired an "as is" 2003 Polaris 330 Magnum that would only allow the crank to turn one turn either way.  When I removed head, I found that the piston is raising above the sleave just enough to hit head (pics attached) and not allow it to make a complete revelution.  Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?
