I have a 1988 bayou 220 with a oil leak where the drive shaft connects to the engine at the wires comming out of the case. Can i fix this without removing the engine? Whats this gear housings called ? I'll need a gasket and looks like shifter seal at least.  Any help would be appreciated.

If you look up the parts diagram online it will probably help, and if you download a service manual and have a look they generally tell you early into it what can be done on the motor and gearbox without removing the motor.. and what needs the motor removal.

If you copied the parts diagram and marked it where you reckon the leak is it might help too..

I think i can remove drive shaft and remove engine mounting bolts. Tilt engine on the side a little and remove cover. Found a y tube video were someone removed foot peg to get some room.

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Which is more reliable? Shaft or chain drive?
