Just rebuilt a 2006 Yamaha Big Bear carb for a friend and would like to double check the float height before I give it back to him  Anyone have a manual they could look it up in or a really good memory.

Thanks

Jim

If it is an original Mikuni Carb:

Float height 13mm .51 inches

Measure the distance from the front mat- ing surface of the float chamber (gasket removed) to the top of the float

Many "Thanks" Gwbarm.

Can I bug you for one more piece of data?  What's the stock air screw setting?  Screw was stuck and in the process of working it in & out, I lost count of the initial setting.  I've seen between 1-1/2 turns to as many as 2-1/2 turns out posted online.  I really don't like working on stuff for other people.  I want it to be perfect but perfection is very time consuming.

Turn the pilot air screw counterclockwise a half-turn at a time, while watching the tachometer. Stop when the idle speed begins to increase, then turn the screw clockwise a quarter-turn. If the idle speed does not increase after more than two full turns, reset the screw to its 2 1/2 turn position; repeat this step and turn the screw clockwise instead of counterclockwise.

You don't have to use a tach if you don't have one you can hear when the engine increases speed  it will increase to a point and start to decrease in speed turn it back until its at the highest speed . Then reset the idle speed.

O3 sat a while. Engine is running fine. I got it into neutral, did some general tune-up and cleaning then pulled the shifter pedal up and it locked up and will not release into neutral again.  Does anyone have experience with this problem?  Thanks for looking and any help.

Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.

So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.

Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

Hello all, I have a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth with no spark. It has a dead battery but with a jump pack on it, it will still not Spark. Plug is good, Throttle ETC is not closed, Stator pick up coil seems to Ohm out in the correct range, Unsure how to properly check the CDI. And when ignition is on the Neutral and reverse light come on but after cranking just the neutral stays on.

      Any help would be great,

      Thanks!
