The Official Good morning thread!

Good mud riding here, its been raining all week. Dont do a lot of that since i got older, just more work cleaning when i get home. -
Interesting battery discussion, i would have never thought small battery would cause a fire , but i guess its possible, i have many battery powered tools, saws, drills, impact wrenches, and i take special care when charging them also, i never charge them directly after use, the battery is usually hot, so i let it cool for a few hrs before charging, i think what really concerns me is leaving battery maintainers on equipment i use rarely, never had a problem, but it is concerning keeping them plugged in all the time. Intersting enough i have several of those going all the time and the only one i ever had to go bad was a Dewalt, and i paid a lot for it just to get a good one. Goes to show you, never know, and the chinese ones still going good. Battery boxes also concern me, im not talking about the cell phone size ones, i have a few that i use rarely because they are annoying, never have power when you need it, have to keep pressing that little button, im talking about the big ones that take a small battery and amp it up. I have had more of these go bad and internally short, no fire just sparks but most just die. I am extremly careful with those.

Good job getting that fixed without using the unobtanium part. Took a little bit to figure out what you needed to make it work but you did it. Excellent! -

2000 Yamaha Breeze 125 slips in Forwards, runs fine in reverse

I would check the clutch out and also the belt and drive make sure the shieves are working correctly and not badly worn, that could be the clanking, as far as the oil sounds like one of the seals might be leaking. -
There is a starter cutout relay, little black box close to battery , you might check to make sure you are getting power through that box.

The volvo i had was equiped with 2 batterys one about the size of a lawn and garden battery and then the regular size battery, i always thought the small one was for the stop start feature but maybe not. I have 2 cars that use AGM battery both batterys are inside the car, dont know if its because they are protected from the elements but i have gotten 8 or 9 years out of those batterys.

It sounds like a carb issue not getting enough gas or too much, i would go through the carb again put it in an ultrasonic cleaner or use carb cleaner and blow through every orafice, be sure to remove the emulsion tube and clean also gunk gets caked in there. You might also check the compression and timing but dont think thats the problem.

You have a good dealer, my dealer is between 50-75 higher than i cn get them anywhere else and they never have the tires i want.

As VR described this should preform a hard reboot and allow you to and allow you to enter your new information, the button sequence could be off depending on the cluster, your service manual should describe the button sequence needed for the particular cluster you have.

I just looked it up, at 895.00 for a fuel pump more than likely it has been fitted with an aftermarket or generic off the shelf one and rewired to work with the 700. Did you determine that it is actually an OEM fuel pump and did you buy an OEM replacement. I looked it up at genuinekawasakiparts.com.

Excellent reasearch figuring that out, im sure it will help others with the same problem. Good luck hope it works out. -
I agree, if you have it out i would go ahead and change it especially if you have erratic readings.
-
This is telling you how to check the main stator which controls lighting and charging, the test you did sounds fine, but it does not mention checking of the pickup coil which controls your spark. Not sure of the wire colors but it would be the other plug your service manual would tell you the correct resistances for that. If it is bad it cannot be replaced without replacing the whole stator. If it tests good then the coil is OK but sometimes trash and debris gets between the coil and the rotor to keep it from functioning properly, but there also could be other electrical problems.
-
I t sounds like you may have a short to ground, i would pull the starter put 12 volts to it and make sure it spins properly and recheck your continuity readings. The start stop switch should not have continuity in both positions check the switch itself and not through the harness and see if you get the same reading.
-
That correct the 3 yellow wires for lights and charging and the other plug would be for the pickup coil and it may have an anti rotational direction coil, i call it an anti kickback coil, not sure if yours has that havent looked at a diagram.

On the 2000 i would add some oil to the cylinder recheck the compression if it goes up its rings if it does not i would look into a valve problem. On the 94 you can take the button apart make sure its making contact when you press it, or just replace it. -
Sounds like a good find low hrs and all maybe it will be an easy fix, very rare to find them in like new condition.

I have seen this happen so many times its like the loctite they used didnt hold up over time, i have gotton away with just refitting the keyway and reinstalling the bolt before, but other times i had to do what you are planning.

That happened to me a few years ago, on my wifes jeep you could definately tell which direction the hail was falling from one side beat to death other looked good, luckily i was still carrying full coverage, came in just under the totalled amount so got money and still got to keep the car. It was close to 10 years old with 160000 miles not worth fixing just rolled the money into new one and kept the old as a spare until my daughter totalled it and got more money. Poor old jeep had a hard life. -

Multiple tornados tore through central and western Mississippi 400 homes damaged and 17 people injured. We got lucky this time, no deaths. -
No power to the coil, new CDI, i would check the continuity of the wire going to the coil. I would also determine which wire goes to the pickup coil and check the OHMs. Then check to see if it is actually putting out voltage, the voltage is so small i use an anologue meter the needle is so sensitive you can see it move dont blink or you will miss it. If you have a peak voltage adapter for your digital meter that will work or may be built in, if you have a very expensive meter.
