2004 Polaris Sportsman 700 Throttle Lever too Hot to Touch

I just purchased a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700 EFI. While riding today I noticed the throttle lever

was getting hot, not just warm but too hot to touch. I’ve never encountered a problem like this before.

I have a service annual ordered but it won’t be here for a few days.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out, there was a rubber boot over the throttle lever concealing a thumb heater. The heater has been 

disabled.

Thats funny, never ran across a thumb heater, interesting, high tech for 2004.
