Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum.

I have been riding quads for the last 20 years, however my quads are extremely old and outdated, all three are about 20 years old LOL.

I have been looking at upgrading, but need your input.

I've narrowed it down to the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 S or the Honda FourTrax Foreman 4x4 EPS

What do you guys think?

a decision like this really depends on your riding style. the polaris atvs are fast and powerful, but are typically less "reliable" in terms of repairs and maintenance. The hondas are incredibly reliable since they dont use a belt drive and are gear driven units.

Yes, I'm from Ohio lol.

They unfortunately moved all powersport production overseas and converted the factories to make Civics.

I've owned Hondas since I was 9.  I've had Yamaha, Kawasaki, and KTM, but I always went back to Honda.

Mine was in the steel overseas transport frame at the dealer when I bought him..  Howsomeever,That Ohio talk..LOL)  I like Kawsaki Motorcycles and Myb zero turn is Kawsaki powered.

I don't mind Kaw's.  I have a JD zero turn that's Kawasaki powered too.  I just picked up a Mule project, so I will be browsing the forums for tips/tricks when I dig into that.

No worries, hijack away, I didn't event think of Kawasaki LOL

Will do a bit of research, Might be replacing two quads after all ;)

So my options so far are:

https://quad-atv.specs-sa.com/Honda-FourTrax-Foreman-4x4-2025-specs.aspx

https://quad-atv.specs-sa.com/Polaris-Sportsman-XP-1000-S-2025-specs.aspx

Or a yet to be decided Kawa! Any suggestions?

I ride rough muddy and steep terrain mostly, speed is lees important that power and reliability.

We tend to get stuck in some hairy situations when we ride...

What do you think of the foreman?

I’m sure they’ve made improvements since the last time I rode one, but I wasn’t a fan of the power steering.  It made the experience too cushy for me lol.

Foreman has 5 speed manual.  I do not notice the electric power steering.  In fact, he is a handful to control.  But I am small.  The "noClutch " shifting took some getting used to.  At first I automatically pulled the left brake when shifting as I am used to my Kaw 1000 clutch on the left  LOL.  I hold on in first gear as he will want to jump out from between my legs when we get moving.

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!
