Warrior 350 head gasket leaking

Hi, just rebuilt my engine (wiesco crank and rod kit, rings, new gasket kit top and bottom, valve stem oil seals, grinded valves) my problem is this, my head is leaking air from the right hand side(not the timing chain side) where the head meets the cylinder. I have a tusk head gasket on and it has a steel ring around chamber and the rest is like cork or paper. The original was all steel with some kind of sealant on it which I cleaned of everywhere. The head is torqued correctly as I stripped and built it again to check it but it's still the same. Has anybody else come across this? Do Warriors wrap their heads?

You should definately have the head and cylinder top checked for warpage. Any aircooled alluminum motor is a little more likely to warp. Aside from that, I woul throw that Tusk gasket out, I can't even concieve why someone would use a cork material on a head gasket. Order an OEM gasket instead.

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

Hi guys. I have a problem where the quad will start and run well for about 5 minutes and then it dies. On inspection the airbox has oil in it (quite a lot). The oil is pumping through the cylinder head breather hose. This problem first happened suddenly. I have since done the top end including, piston, gaskets, rings and valves. I have also done the carb (not that I thought that this was the problem). The compression seems normal. The only thing that I can think of, is that I did not grind the valves well enough. Anyone experienced this? If so, how did you fix it? Any other thoughts?
