Can anyone tell me when the back rest is up, on the 500 x2, if it should lock in the upright position or does it move freely.

I don't have one, but one would think it would lock into position.

it should lock into place. At least it does on my friend 500. Raptor 8 its standard for a Polaris 2 seater. Hope this helps.
