1987 Suzuki LT230s gears messed up?

Hey guys great to finally be apart of a quad forum that has people that come on! So i guess ill give you all the whole story. About 3 months ago my boss gave me his old lt230s to ride around and have fun with. We got it running the night i brought it home, it shifted threw all the gears no issue and was running great. The next day it went boom. Piston and connecting rod exploded and the cylinder was like a grenade and blew out the bottom 3 inches. It was a long and slow process but me and my good friend got all the parts we needed and put it all back together. We followed the shop service manual to the best of our ability but we must have missed something. We got it running and it runs great even thought its a little hard to kick start. Now we only have reverse ( separate lever) neutral ( which is down) and 2nd gear ( 1 up from neutral) I dont know what it is and im pretty annoyed with it. we didnt remove any of the gears or shift forks so im stumped. Please help.

      Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum.
      I have been riding quads for the last 20 years, however my quads are extremely old and outdated, all three are about 20 years old LOL.
      I have been looking at upgrading, but need your input.
      I've narrowed it down to the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 S or the Honda FourTrax Foreman 4x4 EPS
      What do you guys think?

      Okay so I bought this 1997 sazuki king quad from a guy and he had it for a few years. 
      He had it registered and on the trails last year but he said it bogged and backfired when he would try to drive it. so it sat for a year. 
      I bought it for 800 bucks and got it running that night and it ran great for a few days 
      But I parked it the other night and went to start it again and it was really hard to fire up and when I did it was bogging and idling high then low again.
      So I took the carb out and cleaned it (ended up doing it twice because it was still doing the same thing) 
      Now today I have it running slightly better, but it is still like 20% 
      I have been looking it up and trying to figure it out but I can't find the issue, has anyone else had this problem? I'll attach a video of it running and giving some throttle

      I don't know if I shouldn't have posted but I this is my second post on this (other was in regionals Forum)  The family has a 2-up 2004 Artic Cat and a 2003 Polaris Sportman and we are looking for fun/easy rides in the Colville, WA area- 70 Miles North of Spokane WA, we have a small trailer we can haul these with but need to find some good areas for beginner.

      Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

      The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
      We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)

      I bought this from a buddy to plow snow up in the North Eastern Washington- its been getting oil in the water and I've been changing the oil often and adding collant as necessary-
      I've taken the stator cover off and I'm looking at the Oil Seal and water pump seal and they look good- Although I've ordered a factory oil Seal I'm looking at putting it in this afternoon-
      I don't have the factory service manual- am I suppose to Add RTV to the Stator cover Gasket? I've seen some folks suggest grease other suggest RTV?

      Any suggestions here- I'm trying to reassemble it tonight- I looked at downloading the manual but need to get up to 10 posts firsts it looks like-

      I appreciate any suggestions- normally I'm a jeep and honda dirt bike guy- but  I got a good deal on the quad and a plow so I went for it
      Its got a bit over 3K and runs pretty good- but I've had her tore apart for 3 weeks to figure out the oil in the coolant issue.
