1997 Yamaha Kodiak 400 Info

Im new to the site and recently just bought a 97 kodiak 400 and was wondering if any could tell me alittle on the background of the quad, or many things to keep a eye on. Any advice would help, ive always had dirtbike and raced motocross and dont know much about quads.

well i think you have a pretty reliable bike. i don't know if there are really any issues with it. it's a YAMAHA !

if you need a service manual i have a couple, not your year, but a 2000 and 2001 i think. just let me know and i'll upload it for you. i don't believe they changed alot thru that spread of years... and welcome to the site

Good quad, I had a 450 once. No issues except if it sat too log, the carb float needle would oxidize and get stuck, then a no start condition.

Besides that, no issues.
