Hello my name is Josh and I'm new to this forum. I have a problem with my 03 Quadrunner 250 Idling way to high. I have rebuilt the carburetor and gave a proper cleaning. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but nothing happens. From what I can tell I don't have and vacuum leaks. When i spray carburetor cleaner on the air filter side it idles down to normal rpms and then after about a min or 2 it goes right back up. Any help will be appreciated im at my whits end with this. thank you

Check your intake boot for cracks. My buddy just went thru hell trying to fix an issue like that & it ended up being a bad boot. He rebuilt the carb, including choke curcuit, tried a new carb, then was looking @ timing before he found the bad boot! Lots of wasted time and money.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look again today when I get home. Yesterday I sprayed carb cleaner on the boots yesterday but it never change the idle until I sprayed directly into it.

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?
