2013 JCTRA Hangover Scrambles @ Washougal MXP

Recommended Posts

This years event is once again being held at the world famous Washougal Motocross Park (Washougal Motocross Park |)

As always the event is held on January 1st which is a Tuesday this year.

For the most part the format will be the same as last year.

There may be an oppotunity for a Test Race for UTV/SXS racers this year. If we get enough UTV/SXS racers PREREGISTERED ONLINE by Wednesday, December 26th (midnite) we will have a 30 minute UTV/SXS test race! The whole purpose of doing it this way is to gauge interest. If there's enough people willing to brave Washougal and their UTV/SXS's then we'll be able to justify bumping or moving other classes around next year and give them a full 60 minute race. The UTV/SXS test race will be on the C Course, the longest, toughest course...same as the 4X4 Ute quads and the expert bikes ride. If you want to ride your UTV/SXS at Washougal, go to jctra.org :: All things Jones Creek and preregister before Wednesday, December 26th! If the UTV/SXS race is canceled all entries will be refunded within 24 hrs (via Paypal) and all preregistered racers will be emailed letting them know the race has been canceled.

Please feel free to post these fliers wherever you think it is appropriate. (Please do not post them on peoples car windows or other locations where they might turn into litter...)

Hope to see you there!

I cant seem to find what this part is called. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I must be misinterpereting the parts catalog or something? I dont see it in the rear axle section. I think it may be in the rear brake assembly section? click link to view picture.

Hello everyone, I just picked up an 02 LT-F250F the other day and have been in the process of tearing it down to fix some stuff- one of which was the cylinder base gasket leaking like a sieve. Well, I know why that is now, and I also discovered that someone had been in there before. I didn't take pictures, but it looks like it was probably run low on oil at some point, the cam journals and the "bearings" (for lack of a better term) in the head and the valve cover are totally wiped out, very deep grooves.  From what I know it's very difficult to repair aluminum in this way, so I'm trying to figure out where to go next.

      1. Have someone grind down the head and valve cover and fit actual bearings in since the aluminum is screwed, and have the cam ground down to match.  I have no idea what this would cost.
      2. Buy a replacement head+cam+valve cover.

#1 I was hoping someone might have some advice on, but #2 seems like it'll (probably) be the more cost effective option.  However I'm running into some difficulty, it seems like the 2001 and 2002 models specifically use a different head part number,  11100-19B10, instead of  11100-19B01 like for all earlier models.  What exactly is the difference between them? There are obviously far more of the earlier heads because it ran for over 10 years.  Are they actually interchangeable? I've also noticed there are heads from the LT250EF that has 4 valve heads but also otherwise look identical.  Would those work as well possibly?  I'd like to not have to drop $500 on machine work or new heads on a $1300 quad that I'm already putting a bunch of new parts on.  Oh, and it has a new piston and the cylinder itself looks pretty good too, as I said someone was in here before me.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll post pics of the carnage tomorrow.

Hello from southeast Georgia. Was gifted a 2000 Yamaha bear tracker with out a carb or battery and looking like it had seen better days. Was told it had sat for about three years. Explained a lot. Put a carb on and a battery in and it started right up. Surprised the heck out of me  Anyhow as stated in my opening I am  78 years old with a very long motorcycle backgground but brand new to atv's. Anyone else out here from Georgia? Would like to meet up with some folks for a ride or two. Looks like a great site. Thanks for having me.

Has anyone been here? I have been there a few times this year and I love it! It is quite muddy in parts of it, but there is something for EVERYONE there! They just hosted the season opener for Championship Mud Racing there and it was awesome! Its one of my favorite privately owned parks in this whole region!
