Anyone know how to get the pull start pully off the crank so I can get my left crankcase cover off so I can change my stator out.

Should I use a 3 claw bearing puller, has anyone done it with succes, I dont have one so have to rent/buy/borrow one but from the pics I dont know if it will fit between the pulley and case. This is a picture of what Im trying to get off, there is no bolt holes on the inside to thread a diffrent type of puller into. The center bolt came right out.

Thanks for the reply I rented/borrowed a small 3 jaw puller from pepboys put the center bolt back in half way and it pulled right out with little to no force, less than 5 minutes and it was off. That versus the hour i spent on it this weekend, trying to tap with hammer and prying on it with 2 flat bars on each side and it wouldnt budge, which is when I got worried about cracking the crank cover behind it putting to much force on it with the flat bars. 99% of things are simpler with the right tool.

Hey everyone looking for a suggestion of where i can start looking. But first I'd like to explain what happened. Took the bike this morning got it started in 6 degrees celsius in 6-7 kicks? No choke. Drove 6km and when shifted to next gear bike decided to just shut off, stopped checked everything out seemed good, started first kick and on i went, drove maybe another 2km bike did same thing but this time it took me 10-15 kicks to get it started, on the third time after a kilometer decided not to start at all. Kicked it like a 450 a couple hundred times, nothing. So far checked gas is good, bypassed fuel filter and on/off valve to eliminate that problem, hot wired the kill switch in case something got corroded there. Nothing. Any suggestions would be welcomed. (Heard valve adjustment are a must do?)

I've been using Valvolene 10w 40 ATV oil but, it's like $8.00 a quart. Is that about the going rate? Or is there cheaper alternatives that would be suitable? Thanks

Do not know what else I need to attach the pull start to this machine. I have the pulley but nothing to attach it with. Could you help with what else I need. It's a 1999 Lakota 300

I'm repairing a 96 Timberwolf 2x4. Many years ago a dog chewed the wires that go from stator to the rectifier/regulator, and I've had to use the pull start ever since. Ive since lost the plug for the stator and on the wiring harness side. I'm ordering a new stator that will also come with the female plug that I need to fix it on the wiring harness side, but I have no clue in what position to put those 3 white wires(ones I'm holding with electrical tape on them) back into the new plug. Since they're all the same color, does it matter? Any info on this or pictures anyone has of their own will be very much appreciated.
