My four trax has a snow blade with a winch mounted on the blade. The winch looks like a wiper motor. I would like to install a winch on the Quad, so it will handle the blade and also pull the quad up into the bed of my truck. I see mounts on line for my Quad, but I cant see how they would possibly fit. If anybody has a pic of a winch on this vintage quad, I would appreciate it. Thanks Todd

I thought I would share some Before and After photos of my 1996 Kodiak 400 4x4
My son in law gave us his quad as he got another one and this one has been sitting outside for a couple of years. A horse chewed on the seat, the tires were flat, and it was in bad shape but he said the last time he had it running it ran great.
I rebuilt the carb, cleaned the gas tanks, lubed up the cables and parts and alot of cleaning in general.
I painted the quad all black so if I have to touch it up it wont be hard to do. I just used Flat Black paint. I did rough up the plastic before I painted it. Next I want to paint the wheels black too.
Notice the snow plow has a dent in it at the top? A local ATV shop got in a totaled ATV and they gave me the plow because they didnt want to sell it with the dent. It came with the Push Tubes. We fabricated the mounting parts.

Picked this beauty up for zero dollars this weekend. It has been passed around several of my son's friends and the last kid was just tired of tinkering with it.  Mostly complete 96 300FW. The pic is my boy robbing the swing arm and rear diff for his 300 for a big memorial weekend ride. Wiring is garbage at the battery, kick start doesnt work, no coil, smoked like cheech and chong when it ran last. I figure a couple hundred and a few hours and this will be ready to ride. Journey will be documented on Instagram at @martincyclellc if ya wanna follow along.

      Hello everyone,
Im new here, this is my first post and Im trying to figure out how evrything works on this site so I please let me know if Im doing anything wrong.
I have a couple Yamaha's but this post is in regards to my 02 Grizzly 660, I have an electrical draw somewhere that is taking my new battery down rather quickly. I have tried to locate any short by checking each circuit but was not able to locate it that way. Im installing a battery cut off switch which brings me to my first question, dont these switches usually go on the Negative terminal?
My next question is, can anyone tell me if this year and model has any history of electrical shorts that might help me locate the culprit? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Finally, Im looking forward to being a member of this site and hopefully helping others as well as learning some things myself, so greetings to all!
      Best wishes to everyone!

      Hello All,
I have a 1999 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 trying to get fixed up so my grandson can go out in the woods with me.
We have owned it over 10 years.  It got harder to start, until it finally would not.  Replaced the carb.  Right afterwards, it started and ran nicely, but after turning it off, would not restart.  Tonight I used starting fluid and ran, then died.  Adjusted the idle up a little, used more starting fluid and ran great.  It idled about 15 minutes.  Turned it off, and restarted.  Ran it around the yard about 5 minutes.  Turned it off, and would not restart.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
      Thank you.
