Hey fellas,

posting from Western Australia.

Been on here a bit lurking and read alot about the Suzy ltf250-300 quadrunners.

Im building one out of two sh** boxs so i thought id put back in a bit and post some info on my build.

Ive got a late 90s 2504wd and a 982wd,both seen better days!

Frames rusted,cases corroded etc etc.

One had 20,000klms,the other 3000klms,picked them both up a while back for a project in the shed. The 2wd one with low miles had been used on salt lakes in the outback :(

Lower engine cases corroded badly. So i used the cases off the other one, they were sandblasted and the 2wd internals are like new so in they went after painting.

High comp piston arrived the other day so i"ll get it bored next and finish the motor off.

Started on frame the other day, replace all bottom rails and fronts where suspension bolts on with gal tubing.

Will do,i"ll post some pics when i have more time.

The quad will be rebuilt top to bottom.

Plan is double A-arms at rear with 2 inch lift, hope to use Arctic cat rear cvs on it,1 inch spacers and 12 inch rims.

Oil cooler plus cooling fan, storage boxs etc and frame will be beefed up a bit as well.

I have a new Polaris 400 also, this is a build for the wife.

We use them for prospecting in the outback.

Semi went to the dark side from only two wheels about 2 years ago with the purchase of a CForce 1000 Overland.  Then yesterday, I fully dove in, purchasing a ZForce 800 Trail.   For the past 25 years, I have only been a Single Track, Enduro, Adventure and Sport Touring motorcycle rider.  But upon moving to the Colorado Western Slope and finding thousands of miles of two-track, I just had to have the 50" experience as well.  Also, there is the fact that the wife and I (she also rides motorcycles), turned 57 years old this year and we just don't feel as confident and comfortable tackling the challenging single-track stuff like we use too.   These four-wheeled critters will allow use to keep exploring the remote and lonely spaces we love.
I look forward to reading and learning more.....

Starting this build thread to keep up with everything on my build and hope to motivate someone!

I picked up this 2008 Yamaha Big Bear 250 2 weeks ago. A guy that I hunt with parked it at the hunt club for a year or so before I asked him if he wanted to sell. He said " fill my feeder and throw some batteries in my cameras, and you can have it". Sounds like a deal to me!
I have attached some pictures of how it sat under a tarp in the woods and when I got it home and cleaned up a little.
