Thanks in advance for any advice given!

My 4 year old has been driving his lt50 with his hand on the brake & burnt out them out.....can anyone point me in the right direction to get a shop manual for it or even just advise how to get into the drum to replace the shoes?

Cheers!!

in one of the forums, they have a list of many manuals, might be there,?? also, take a pict and we can see the damage, maybe learn from it ?, I just did my rear brakes, and it was pretty easy, currently getting the drum re-surface at a machine shop.. might want to investigate that as well..it was pretty cheap..

Thanks for the reply, the only manual I can find on the forum that's even close is for the lt 80 but that has hydraulic brakes, my boy's lt50 has a single drum in the middle of the rear axle with what I presume will be cable operated shoes. Can't post a pic yet as I haven't stripped the brakes yet.... Is it just a case of stripping down the back axle to get into the drum? Or am I missing something simpler?

It's a 91 mate, lt50 quad runner. I went for it this afternoon & pulled the wheel & shaft cover, such a simple brake setup, much simpler than I was expecting... Drum was full of mud, no wonder they weren't working properly! Also fabricated a set of foot guards to stop his wee feet slipping under the wheels when they come off the pegs.

Would still appreciate a manual if somebody's got one incase I need to do more in depth work!

Cheers

Are you sure its a LT50 or a 91? The last LT50 made according to Bike Bandit parts data base was 1987. Went to mygreenmanuals.com and nothing there either. Though Im not sure about UK models. Can you post the vin num?

Sounds like you are on the right track with the problem though. Simple cable drum brake setup.

O3 sat a while. Engine is running fine. I got it into neutral, did some general tune-up and cleaning then pulled the shifter pedal up and it locked up and will not release into neutral again.  Does anyone have experience with this problem?  Thanks for looking and any help.

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!
