  1. i dont think you save that much at Walmart, actually.....if you shop at stores like Publix, they often have many items every week that are buy one get one free...

combine that with coupons, you're saving a BUNCH...

Last week I spent $70 bucks or so on groceries...but I saved $42 because of the B.O.G.O. and coupons!!!

Certain things i have saved greatly on buying them at wal mart compaired to anywhere else.. I dont really do my food shopping there more so for camping supplies, fishing auto needs etc. Wal-Mart is just the new Sears with much better management and business profiles.

Though i am tired of Ruby Tuesdays and such, not many home grown places survived in my areas since the aforemented and about 20 cookie other cutter type eateries...

Amazing how much retail sq footage there is. Orange COunty NY is about 350,000 to 450,000 population wise and there is about 10 million sq ft of retail at least.

now i wish someone would just open the quading and outdoor version of Wal-mart :-)

  2. have an 02 scrambler 400 2 stroke and a 03 scrambler 500 4 stroke and the 4 stroker has way more get up and go.. much quicker machine for sure.. not sure about top end on either being i have only had them both up to about 48 mph according to GPS

Great machines for sure. i couldnt even imagine doing over a 100 on a quad that is not set up with street tires.. Just doing close to 50 i could tell doing 75 would be tricky with trail tires on pavement.

  3. I live in the lower catskills in NY and out my back door is about 42 sq miles of woods :partyc: so i ride often:sifonec:

However my first trip will be either to the adirondack mountains to ride or down to the Hatfield McCoy trail system in WV in about a month. With over 500 miles of trails i think it will be Hatfield McCoy for first trip:autoc:

  4. Don't have any insurance on our toys.....We use State Farm on our house, camper and three vechicles.....know of several folks that have insurance on their quads with State Farm in different parts of the country and only pay around $130.00 a year.....well we have so many quad thefts in this part of the country that ours would run just over $300.00 a year for each of our quads.....you would think that we would get some kind of a discount with everything else insured but not living here

Did you try AIG or Progressive?

  5. My camera goes with me everywhere too! There are always things to snap pics of! I have a Canon Rebel EOS, it's an awesome camera. GREAT quality!!!!!

Well seems the Rebel is popular.. also what i have although picked up a canon 40D two months ago but that does not come on the quad. I use the 40D when near the truck and take the Rebel on the trail.. I am picking up a Canon XH A1 Hi Def cam corder too, hopefully next week if all goes well.

in my rear bag i made a shock proof and water proof area for the rebel.. see below

  6. It is nice, Between my wife and I, we have enough great pics of both of us on the computer we could fill many many albums. He is actually our best friend who is into the same stuff. So he goes with us all the time and he happens to carry his camera every where.

I hear ya... my camera comes everywhere with me all the time.. forget about Amex i got Canon:wink:

  7. No, I did not personally take the picture. We have a photographer that goes everywhere with us. I actually submitted it on his behalf. Pretty much all of my photos are taken by him.

WEll well well must be nice.. your own personal traveling photographer.. lol

    Sweet

  8. Welcome Alex and all the quads mentioned above are great choices and one not mentioned is a hybred between sport and utility.. They are less in weight then the full utility quads and more than a sport but unlike the full sport they are 4x4 and some you can even put racks on

I have a polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 (all wheel drive)with a rear rack and winch on the front and love it i also have a front rack which is not on right now.. Can Am makes one to but like stated above they are mega $$

I picked up my 2003 Scrambler 500 for about 2 grand and it runs like new

    Good luck in your search

here is a pic of the scrambler 500

  9. I build single family residential house and also have my brokers license and to put it into an example so you could understand if you are not effeected by it...

what ever your income is cut it by 1/2 to 2/3's and you will have an idea of how it effects those of us who are in housing construction. In some cases even much worse, Just about all of Sourthern Cali, Vages and Sarasota Florida have been hit the hardest with sale and prices dropping fast and foreclosure rates in those areas of unheard numbers. Than add into it the amount of houses in the construction phase and developments started before the crunch where property was bought at a premium and there are many builders gone belly up and lost everything of which i know 2 personally. Now along with the builders you have all the trades involved in building, excavating, concrete, framing, sheetrock, paint, roofing and siding and the list goes on. Now they have lost there bread and butter too.

Some houses are moving and February saw a 2.9% increase over January although 23% below Same time last year.

So the easy way to up it is if you make $100,000... try living on 40 or 50K now.. lol

That should give you an idea of how it has hit some people in the industry...

  11. I have a 2002 polaris Scrambler 4x4 400 i got cheap being someone owed me some money i also just picked up a 2003 polaris scrambler 4x4 500 at a good price.. I wanted to see how much of a difference there is in the power which is a pretty good difference between the two. Both machines are great rides though:yes:.. Maybe in the fall will get a Sportsman 800 EFI
