I'm having same issue with 88 4 trax , watch out for the after market cdi . The vendors claim they work on 88 -94 ,wrong . The 88 is adifferent animal . still waiting on right parts . Compare diagrams in service manuals and you will see what I mean

Hi Guys I have 88 4trax FW , it has a booster circuit In the cdi control fed from a leg in the alternator. MY Honda service manual says you will get no spark without this circuit on this model. Can someone explain a little about this please ? Thanks

This looks like a helpful Forum . I found it while searching for a cdi training manual . I have formal training on motorcycle electronics , but this was in 1970 s.thank I will keep trying , thanks .
