  1. Thanks for the reply

I ended up leaving it at the dealer for top end recall and I asked them to check that could be causing it to just shut down. They tested it and said it’s my stator. So I bought a stator and replaced it and it runs great since than. I guess it was giving out 22-24 volts ac when I tested it but I couldn’t really test resistance with my meter.
I bought small digital voltage gauge and now I can always see if I’m loosing charging.

  2. I was wondering if anybody seen that problem and know what could cause it

it’s new to me 2018 Yamaha grizzly 700 with just over 4000km

it starts fine and runs great until it gets to normal running temp. Fan turns on few times and than it stalls. If I try to start it right after It won’t start but if I let it cool for a while it will start and run normal for a bit and than stall again.
so far I checked the stator output voltage and it’s around 22 volts AC between all 3 poles. I measured voltage on the battery while it runs and it’s around 14v so charging seems ok.
I’ve read somewhere that it could be the coil but I’m not sure how to test it

does anybody have any ideas what could that be ?

  3. I was wondering if I can get any tips on maintenance. This is my first quad so I don’t have any experience with them. Is there some kind of a routine that I should keep doing every certain hounded of kilometers ?
My Polaris has 1200 km on it and I got it from auction so I have no idea what was done to it. I changed the engine oil And filter so far and I’m planning to change transmission fluid and front and rear differential.

  4. I checked the resistance on pins 1 and 2 and it does change when I press the throttle. It was around 2150 ohms when I press the throttle it jumps to over 6000 ohms so I’m guessing the switch is working correctly.

When I started it up the code was gone and didn’t come back yet so either it was the connection or something else.

Thank you guys for your help

  5. thanks for the reply

Yes I did see it  and I checked that connector and everything looked Clean and was plugged in tight.
I finally got my parts yesterday and assembled the suspension on it so I’ll be able to take it for a ride this weekend I hope and I’ll see if the code clears or it it is affecting how it’s running

  6. Hi, I got a check engine light and a diagnostic code 520194 2 and i know it has something to do with throttle voltage out of range

I'd like to know if thats something that can be adjusted ? Or does anybody know what should i test  ?  I just bought this atv and I'm fixing it as its been in an accident.

I also changed throttle leaver as original one was broken and I noticed inside the 4x4 selector assembly there are 2 contacts but I'm not sure if they're suppose to make contact at idle. I found some info online but some are saying they're suppose to touch and some say they're not. I think id depends of the year of the machine but I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate any help that i can get with this

    Thanks

  7. I just bought my first atv. It's a 2017 Polaris 570 sp with a little over 1000 km on it, it's after an accident so I'm learning how to fix them right away and I hope I'll be able to find a lot of useful info on this site.
