  1. I got a old Barn Find 350 Big Bear, from my recently passed Father in law. This machine was used to drive cattle and haul minerals, as well as stringing Barbed wire. I had to replace the oil Pump, as the grandkids pretty much wore it out. I replaced the Front cv joint boots which were tore, but just noticed the after market ones didn't last more than a year. I have found I can buy on Ebay, a set of complete front axles, cheaper than the boots alone. I have been using this ATV for 2 years now, but plan on doing a top overhaul this winter. So far it's been a tough machine, and worth the money I've have put into it. When you rebuild your Carb, make sure you clean the Idle Circuits with a very fine wire, and follow up with Carb cleaner spray, then blow everything out with compressed air. Check your float levels also. I use a Harbor Freight digital caliper, and used the pin that protrudes out the handle, when the correct measurement is set and locked. Hope this helps you. Hang in there the machine is worth the effort to keep it going.
  2. Hi Frank Great info. I would like to add, if one needs to check float adjustments, find it in your service manual or Google it. The best way I've found is with the carb upside down, is to use a Harbor Freight digital Caliper, using the end stick, that protrudes out the handle, for the best and accurate measurement. This makes an easy way to set the float level than using a ruler, or the paper gauges, that sometimes are sent with a kit. I used this for my Mikuni Carbs on 2 1988 Yamaha TerraPro's. Very Accurate.
  3. I have two 1988 Yamaha Terra Pro's, and found if you wet sand the Plastic with 220 grit sandpaper, then blow it dry with a compressor. Use Denatured Alcohol to remove any oil from your skin, then it is ready for a Bonding primer, which is sold by Sherman Williams. it's in a Brown label can and around $12. , it sprays on white. I then dry sanded with 320 to smooth out the Primer, and then again use Denatured Alcohol. You are now ready to paint any color you like, as long as you use Fusion, or any that says bonds to plastic. I have found that this Bonding Primer is the best and will not peal as others do. Good Luck.
