  1. Thank you! Could this be mechanical and not electrical? It sems more electrical because as soon as I start to move it into reverse it dies like I shut off the quad.??? It used to work before I replaced the head and pulled out the metal from the broken cam. Thanks for everything.
  2. I just got another head. I had it running like a charm. It was idling then I heard a LOUD PING then it died. I forgot to tighten the timing sprocket cam bolt. The pin came out and it broke the end of the cam. I replaced the cam put the head back on. No compression. I took it back off to find the intake valve got bent. Had that replaced. Put it back together and running. I had to take the metal from the cam out of the motor. I took the cover off and retrieved the metal pieces. NOW my reverse no longer works. It almost seems electrical. I don't think I moved or touched anything when i took the metal out of the motor????

  4. I have this 97 warrior that was running and just died, no compression, I pulled it apart and the exhaust valve isnt closing all the way, It appears the rocker arm isnt coming back all the way, preventing the valve from closing. It doesnt seem to be a problem with the cam. I put a light in the head and at top center I can move the cam between the valves like it should. The rocker arm just seems to stop short of coming back, leaving pressure on the valve spring. I am unable to see what is stopping the rocker arm. It does not appear to be the cam.?????? Any thoughts???????
  5. As it turns out, I was just assembling the clutch wrong. Apparently the people that had it before me must have taken it apart and reassembled it wrong. Works fine now. The funny thing is my friend who I got this quad from said it was running and then just died. I found it had no compression. When I took the head off I notices the front valve wasnt sealing. I adjusted until I saw it was sealing, replaced cylinder/ head gasket and fired right up. Had been sitting for more than 3 years. Is this a known issue with Warriors. Ive seen a few Warriors posted on craigslist with the same problem. They say it was running and just died. Im wondering if the valve jumps thread causing these to have no compression. I emailed the people on craigslist notifying them of my experience. I hope it was helpful to them. Thanks for all your help......
  6. I did measure it. The only reason I asked is that I had to go buy it. Thank you VERY much. So I got it apart and it seems I'm missing the #7 on the diagram (Plate thrust 1). I ordered it along with new clutch plates. I'm hoping this does it. My son can't wait! Thanks again:-)
  7. I just did only top end. Cable is works fine. Everything seems to be in good working condition. I got this thing from a friend with good intentions. Sat around garage for 3 yrs. If I remember correctly, I had used the clutch to move the bike few times but maybe I'm wrong. Anyone know the size of the nut inside behind what I guess to be the pressure plate. I have to go buy the socket. I really appreciate everyones help/ comments. Thank you very much.
  8. Thank you. and yes, I do need to get a manual.
  9. I have a 97 warrior that sat in the garage for 3 years. I needed to replace cylinder and head gasket. I finally got it done and it started right up. Now my clutch doesn't work. It ALWAYS in gear. The clutch feels normal. I took the clutch cover off and compressed the pressure plate. Everything seems fine except it's always in gear. I'm new at this so please be kind. Thank you
