Ok this a picture from the CMS catalogue and it definitely shows the pin that is to lock it on. It’s $31.00 which seems a little pricey. Anyway that solves it I think. Thanks everyone for the help. I appreciate it once again you guys came through.

Gwbarm, you referred to part 14 but I’m thinking I need part 15 the handle with what looks like a pin protruding from it to lock the lever into. That would hold the brake on if that’s what it looks to be.

Here is a few pictures. Is something missing? Thanks for responding. that makes sense it’s either broken or the wrong handle. would anyone be able to post a picture of the correct handle I need or one that isn’t broken if that’s the case?

Can anyone tell me how to set the parking brake? I can’t figure it out there seems to be a lever on the hand brake but there is no way to engage it into anything. Don’t know if maybe something is missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay I found the issue with the no idle problem. The idle circuit jet was plugged up. I couldn’t get it out to replace it originally when I rebuilt the carb so I just figured it would be okay. I cleaned it out with a welding tip cleaner and now it starts and idles. Thanks everyone for the help it is greatly appreciated.

Follow up to my post. I’m having start and run issues now. I changed the oil and rebuilt the carb. It isn’t overflowing anymore, but now it won’t idle. It will only fire up with the choke on then it revs real high and dies. Any ideas what could be causing this? Btw, it is gravity fed no fuel pump.I checked the fuel tap and it is working gas flows and stops when shut off.

Yes, I have an ‘87 Yamaha Moto 4 350 same procedure for reverse. Shifter is also used for high & low range on mine…. -
True….I’m going to rebuild the carb anyway since the quad is 35 years old with around 4000 miles on it. I’ll keep everyone updated…thanks again

Yeah! I have been using non ethanol fuel last fall and It ran fine and I haven’t ridden it over the winter. Although I did start it up once a month. I’ll check your suggestions. Thanks…

Hey, I’m getting oil coming out of the fill/ dipstick handle when running and I have overfilled crankcase that smells like gas. Would this be a sticking float in the carb? Thanks
