Definitely not great photos. I got new bearings and seals, everything put back together and the ATV ready to ride again. I feel pretty good about everything. We are going out this weekend so will see how it holds up. These youth quads are definitely not built for rough Colorado mountain trails. The OEM welds on these units are also not great quality. Some welds just ran off into space, cold welds and other issues. This repair is of much higher quality and added a bunch of steel to this rear end.

So doing lots of research, looks like they only sell the connecting rod/crankshaft assembly as one piece. Does anyone know if the connecting rod comes off of this assembly?

We found snow frequently throughout the weekend, here is a photo from the same spot showing the snow. A few trails were still impassible due to the snow.

I have a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 110, the best part about these ATVs are the fuel injection. I ride in the NM and CO mountains and not having to continually mess with the carburetor is the best. A perfect ride for the young ones!

Took two of the kids up camping a few weekends ago, near Alamosa, Colorado. This is right about 11,000 ft. This view is what makes Colorado ATVing a pleasure.

During the repair, found the rear bearings to be shot. The seal wasn't doing it's job and the bearing was very dry and rusty. I have some new seals and bearings on order.

My neighbor helped me out. A main plate was added to stiffen up the component and new rails added to help "jump" over the rocks instead of hitting them head on. This will be tested next month on another ATV trip, see what breaks next.

So not sure how there was no oil in the case but currently into an engine rebuild due to running it dry. Luckily the damage was a lot less than it could have been. The worst of it is the connect rod as it got hot. The piston was seized onto the piston pin. Trying to get it loosened up to get some new parts in here. Would anyone reuse this connecting rod?

I have a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 110cc that my son rides. We are active riding in the Colorado mountains. My son struggles to navigate trails with rocks. He follows my line and occasionally hits the rear end. Well the pictures show the damage well. After a weekend of riding almost 60 miles, he hit one rock and nearly ripped the rear axle off. There was about 1/2" of metal still attached on one of the tubes. Luckily I have a neighbor that is a big fabricator as his help will be needed on this one.

Good evening from New Mexico. I am Darren, a new member here. I have a large family so trying to keep 6 ATVs running is a chore some months. Looks like a good resource here, I am actively working on two ATVs due to a rough camping trip leading to 2 of 3 ATVs being towed back to the trailer. I will start some new threads specific to each repair. I own 5 Polaris machines and one Kawasaki. My son was riding the Polaris 110cc, apparently hitting every rock he could and almost ripped the rear end off. One Polaris Phoenix 200 somehow ran out of oil so doing a motor rebuild. I will post both in more detail with pictures. Look forward to contributing here.
