Thanks, I will look when I get to PA, I am in NY now. Bought the quad with only 250 miles on it so it should be in there. I was told it does not work very good. But in theory should have to only have to do this minimally. I wonder what the factory settings are?

I have a 2017 Alterra 500 TRV, manual says 0w-40 oil should be used. I have read that Rotella T-6 meets all the standards that the OEM oil does but I can only seem to find the 5W-40 unless I buy a 5 Gallon pail...lol. Can I use the 5w-40? OR just stop being a cheap SOB and suck it up and spend the $85 for the OEM kit?

I have a 2017 Alterra 500 TRV and get conflicting info from the manuals. The operators manual refers to 5 settings on the shock for adjustment. The service manual makes no mention of this. Which is right? If adjustable do you need a special spanner to adjust?

I have looked at a few threads and most are several years old. I am looking at 2012 Honda rancher that only has a few hundred miles on it but the tires/battery are still original. I am guessing I will need a new set? The quad will be used on streets and rocky trails in PA. Any recommendation for brand, type and place to buy them. I know Amazon has them but am sometimes leery of what they sell. How easy to dismount and mount a new set? Any special tools or just let a shop do it?

I am looking at either of the above, both have extremely low miles like 125 on the Kawi and 700 on the moto. The moto has power steering and is 10 years newer but it is ...Chinese and I have heard last year there was parts availability issues. The older Kawi's had some belt and fan issues. Anyone with real experience on either chime in with your opinions?

NY is the same. In PA I can not ride it on state or county roads, but the community is all private roads so if it is insured and titled to me, I am allowed to use it on the roads in the community.

I keep it at a community called Masthope in Lackawaxen PA. We are allowed to drive the streets and they have trails in spring and summer (in winter they are for cross country skiing.

Had it on the trails here in the community put about 50 miles on it this weekend. Think we will be looking for a second one.

Just bought a low use 2017 Artic cat Alterra 500 TRV for my house in PA. Never owned a quad before but had a blast on the roads and minor trails today in NEPA. Back on Long Island where I live normally, is not a place to have one of these. After today I have a feeling I might be shopping for a second one for the wife!
