  1. Well, long story short,I bought with a known no spark issue. All troubleshooting till now has been done with the plug out leaving very little backpressure and making it easy for the starter gear to stay aligned. Now,with plug in,starter is pushing much harder and it only took 1 little back wind for it to drop enough to bind. Excellant suggestion on the measurments, that is how I will get length. There seems to be a lock ring a certain distance from stater gear,to keep it from rattling around and sliding out of alignment back and forth. I may be forced to buy 1 but,for now I think I have a straight pin that'll work to keep things aligned while I hear it start for the first time(said optimistically)
  2. Sorry if this is in the wrong section,I didn't really consider it technical or needing advice. 2006,Linhai 300cc.What I was hoping was to find someone with the starter idler gear pin length and diameter. I've had the cover off alot of times and never realised there should be a pin from the case that meets the cover holding the starter gear in place. Now,a deepwell 1/4 in drive,5/16 deep well sits in the pin holes perfectly. Should I cut a lock ring groove in the end of it like a factory pin? I was thinking of just tack welding a washer to the end?
  3. Hello, tried to post a little while back and it didn't go through,or I can't find it. Anyway, recently bought a used 2006 300(260 e11 on top of air box,not sure what that means unless the airbox fits both). Story goes it has no spark. My daughter and I are done cleaning the fuel system and moving on to the electrical side. Have found some broken manuals, never the full 2006 one. To start this off right, could someone please tell me the correct battery? I have found in a manual 5ahr,but if I get a 12ahr,will I start to blow fuses and starters? Also, can i do the troubleshooting with a batter jump pack hooked straight to it so as not to run a new battery down? Thankyou!
