  3. Went for a ride yesterday to an area I haven’t been to in about 9 yrs. It’s the Raft River Mountain Range in the Sawtooth National Forest next to the Utah Idaho border. To get to the road / trail I rode, you have to go into Idaho for a ways, then west across about 20 miles of real good dirt road, which is still in Idaho, make a left heading south back into Utah and up into the mountains. After about 7 miles, I parked the truck, unloaded the bike and headed out for a GREAT DAY of RIDING !! :woot:

From my home to where I parked the truck is about 120 miles (one way), so I left the house at 0530, stopped along the way for eggs and bacon … along with my morning “Fee” …. That’s “Coffee” guys & gals !! :coffee:

The mountains actually poke out of the desert floor when viewed from an aerial view in Google Earth. It’s pretty dang flat on three sides of them.

There are some connecting mountains on the West end but when you look North, South or East, it is amazing just how flat the valley floor is & how high in the sky you are.

I must have seen about 100 Antelope on the way out there and once riding, I saw two big herds of deer. Only got a photo of one group that had split up … and they weren’t waiting around to see if I was just shooting photos of them or a rifle at them !!

When I got back to the truck and loaded the bike I noticed a sheetrock screw in my tire. :aargh: Luckily it was just into a tread block & not actually into the tire. (See Video Thumbnail)

Hope you enjoy the video and make sure you change the video quality to 1080p for your best viewing enjoyment !! … :seeyac:

NOTE: I also uploaded the video to Vimeo if you would like to watch it there too !!

  4. Yup, my first snow ride of the 2013-2014 Winter Season ...

Went for a ride yesterday to check out the snow conditions in our mountains. What a GREAT DAY !! :jiggy:

It was just like winter, when I unloaded the bike, the temp was 10F (-12c) and at the end of ride it had really warmed up ... all the way to 17F (-8c) ... and there was about 15 to 20mph wind all day long. I will say thou, I didn't see one bug all day long, nor was it dusty !! :smilielol5c:

I sure like these Pit Bull Growlers tires too. They really grip. :drivingc:

There were a couple sledders that showed up just as I was pulling away from my truck & they returned to their truck about the same time I did. They said that had been trying to follow me, but it kept gett'in to rocky for them ... that made me chuckle !! :nopityc:

Here's a short video of the ride, hope you enjoy it !! I will say, it looks so crystal clear on my computer, but Youtube really messes it up. Still, I hope you enjoy the video. :seeyac:

  6. I have a set of Grizzly 660 plastics (front & rear fenders & gas tank cover) that's taking up space.

They are green in color & right now, they are covered in Camo Clad 3M camo material. It might not look the best up close, but it does protect the plastics.

If anyone is interested in them, PM me ... I'll let'em go cheap but be advised, shipping can be costly ($125 give or take)(I paid $125 for a set I bought from a guy a long time ago) ... can photo's if you want to your personal e-mail, but ONLY if you're really interested, since they are kinda difficult to get to right now.

    THANKS

  7. Did another great ride last week. went back to the area I've been riding all month, Taylor's Fork in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. :cheer:

Deer season was on & I did see a couple hunters, but all an all, it was a great day with no dust or bugs. :woot:

I put this video on my Vimeo video page because YouTube has been giving me some crap about some of the tunes I've been using ... after the video had been up for 5 months ... :toetap05c:

Anyway, hope you enjoy the video .... :seeyac:
