2004 Bruin Motor Locked?

This weekend I let a friend borrow my 04 bruin at camp. Big mistake! He pushed it back and told me that it got hot and died. Turns out he hit a rock or something and cracked the case. No oil at all! Thought it was locked up on me. We let it cool, added oil, pulled the rope. Oil ran out of the crack.

Now we've fixed the crack, changed the oil and filter, and it won't start. It had compression and turns over just won't start.

Is there a safety mechanism that shuts them down? Is there something we missed? Or is my quad now a paperweight?

I wonder if the hit caused a timing issue or if something is not connecting electrically. I would test for spark, just to take that off the table. Then test for fuel...and if all that is ok, may be timing.

      Quad to pull flail mower - Eiger, Kodiak, Big Bear ?

      Is looking for a quad to pull a flail mower as my first priority, but also a bit of fun. 
      So its going to be pulling a flail mower on high grass / weed on a bumpy field at pretty low speed. 
      My budget is not high, so is mostly looking at a old Yamaha Kodiak 400cc / Suzuki Eiger 400cc or similar. 
      What machine would you recommend  ?  - Really want a solid machine since I am no mechanic but can perform a early service myself. 

      (English is not my native, hope it makes sense)

      Bought a 88 big bear 350 4x4 took it for a run and lost spark, found it was stator so I replaced that then took it for a long run and it sat for 2 days and no spark again, this time stator tests good on ohms and voltage for source and pick up coils so I started replacing things including regulator, ignition, ignition coil and plug cap, spark plug and everything tests great including all safety switches until the orange wire for ignition coil from the cdi it only reads 3 volts so I replaced the cdi and still 3 volts, any ideas??

      Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.
       
      So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.
       
      Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

      have power to relay, in neutral, press start have power to starter but nothing happens starter does not turn
      i have good ground at battery to frame and added ground from wire harness to frame beside batter/ frame ground
      blue white wire to cdi has power with key on
      I believe the neutral lock out is working since is was before i shut it down
      if i put  it in gear and hit the start button with key on the relay does not click or send power the starter
      The 3 wires at the relay have power with key on
      What should i test next?

      2000 Yamaha big bear 400 won’t start

      Hi guys, I have a 2004 big bear 400. Last winter while plowing the driveway, I heard a loud pop from the left side of the engine. It continued to run as I looked for leaky fluid, but then died shortly after backing it up and won’t start now. The oil light comes on when I try to start it, no noise or anything else. 
      No blown fuses that I can find.
