Replacing an Outputshaft

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So the threaded portion of the output shaft where the sprocket nut goes stripped while riding, and no more threads are left. I tried rethreading, but was not successful. So now my only option is to replace the shaft. I can't find any videos on YouTube on how to replace this shaft. All I find are videos on engine tear downs. The thing I am not sure of is if I need to take apart everything I see in these engine tear down videos. I read the service manual, but it doesn't tell you how to remove the output shaft from a put together engine. It tells you how to remove it from the gesrcase, which then I don't know what exactly I have to remove to get to that. So can someone tell me exactly what will need to be removed to allow myself access to removing the output shaft? Thanks

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

Howdy y'all, I'm trying to fix a neighbors 2015 Brute Force 300. Came in with hard to start and won't idle except on choke issue. I pulled the carb and found the pilot jet as well as the emulsion tube partially clogged. Cleaned up everything, put it back together, still having issues...  It will start right up on choke and will also start off choke if you give it just a touch of throttle but it absolutely will not idle unless it's choked just a touch. Also, excuse my ignorance but I'm assuming the "dial" thingy attached to the carb that turns in and out is for setting idle??

It starts and runs Ok but after a while the temp gage lights up and the fan fails to start.  Any suggestions on where to start looking would be helpful.  Thanks

What are your riding location preferences? Mud Park? Personal Trails? Public Land?

I have to replace all 4, how much is involved?  Will they slide out of the front yoke? Or, do the boots just slide over the wheel end?
