I have a 2002 King Quad 300 that has been a fantastic product until now.  Starts well, idles well, upon acceleration, begins to run rough and won't to very high in RPM.  I assumed fuel starvation or bad plug as the issue.  New plug - no change.  Have checked petcock valve which seems ok.  Also checked pump, and thought that might be the issue.  Called around looking for the replacement pump part, and local store suggested they were pretty reliable, and doubted that was the issue.  Suggested a carb cleaning.  Took the easy way out, and opened up the top of the carb, removed the diaphragm, and put some Seafoam in...and let it sit for an hour.  Upon turning over, it wouldn't fire at all.  After a couple of tries, seemed to get a hydraulic lock.  So, pulled plug and turned over, spitting out a lot of fluid.  Re-installed plug, same response.  Now, getting gas leakage on to floor but haven't been able to trace it down exactly (suspect from carb but not from top where I re-installed the diaphragm).  Any ideas?  Thanks.

It gets used regularly - a couple of weekends each month.  Prior to my work reviewed above, it started easily, would get going to 10-15mph, but then begin to sputter.  If I backed off the accelerator, it would stop missing and run as regular, but at the lower RPM.  thanks very much for you time on this.

Check your choke operation, air filter (make sure it's not clogged). It could be fuel not filling the bowl, carb jet issues, or even a coil issue on high rev. Can you reach the carb bowl and take that off and then check your float operation?

Finally gave up and took it to a dealer.  They rebuilt the carb and all is well.  Not sure what they found - cracked diaphragm?  Inside of carb was clean as a whistle, not problems with jets being clogged....$175 and all set.  Thanks for the advice, we will get it next time.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time
      Bill

After i did my rebuild it seems to not want to shift well. I think the cable is alright, and when it does shift its nice and solid. I have to basically use my hand to shift and i have to pull or push it very far, like max travel, to get it to shift. I also tried adjusting the clutch set screw. Any ideas where to go next, or maybe i should just grab a new cable to try.
