Ok so I was cranking over my 98 Timberwolf and on the sixth pull it stopped won’t turn so I pulled crank cover off and tried turning it by han still won’t move so I tried turning it backwards and it moved piston went down back up and stopped again won’t move so turned it forward and piston goes down comes back up and stops. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this issue I don’t want to go buying something I don’t need.

If it is stopping  at  very  close  to the top it  could  possibly  be  a valve is stuck full open  for some reason  and the  piston is hitting it. If you had the spark  plug out something  could have dropped in the  hole and  then  the  piston  jams between it and the head.

Does it turn over ok with the plug out?   On my  Honda,  if I don't open the compression release I  can't  kick it  over  on the kick start ..  I  never thought  but on your pull start  there  may be an  automatic  compression release  that is not working.  It's  possible  compression  is stopping it.  Only a suggestion since I'm  not familiar with your Timberwolf.

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

Maybe someone has the answer to correct a long cranking but did start after maybe 10 seconds?
Temp was mid 70's, with ATV not run for maybe a month but on battery maintainer with full bat charge noted.  The atv started, but then died a couple times after repeated attempts.  But when run awhile everything was ok.  Although when starting now I do hear the fuel pump humming but seems to take a few ,"long" seconds before full prime pressure.
Is this typical of a failing fuel pump?
I've priced a replacement fuel pump on eBay for less than $40 so am tempted to simply replace it for good PM.  Just had all covers off so looks really easy to replace.
      Any ideas?
