2002 polaris sportsman 500 ho rse Help with Repair Sportsman 500

2002 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO RSE  I sure could use some direction before I send my atv to the repair shop.

The atv will turnover but not kick in.  Here is what I have done so far:

changed gasoline/new carb/new fuel pump/checked throttle box on top of handlebars to make sure those two little silver gismos don't touch.

I replaced the spark plug which was working but bought a more expensive one.  I put gasoline in the spark plug hole and still didn't start.  Ether gives me hope but doesn't do the trick.

Bought a compression test and it registered between 50 and 60 I think.  I think that's low but don't know what it tells me specifically.

battery is good. Hooked up to charger while all this is going on.  

Put some Marvel Mystery oil in gasoline ( a little)

No changes.  What else can I do?  If it's valves, etc.  it's gotta go to some repair shop.

Thanks for any help.  I may sound like I know what I'm talking about and I guess I do up to NOW

Do you have spark? Is your timing on. Since it did not start with gas poured into spark plug hole would recommend checking ignition system

Compression is too low. You also need to hold the throttle wide open when doing the compression test.
