Weak spark on old Moto4 350

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I am new to the page and this is my first post. If I get things screwed up, just verbally slap me, and tell me what to do.

I have an 87 Moto4 350 that I bought as a project 2 years ago. I have stripped it down and scrubbed all the Mississippi mud out of it and have put it back together and am beginning the process of trying to get it running. I have fixed many things on it, but have stumbled on the fact that it has weak spark. Just want to hear what I should check first and how. Thanks in advance!

      Any luck with manuals?

I need a carb in the owrst way and am have gone down a lot of rabbit holes (over 90 tabs and counting). Factory calls for a Mikuni BST34/1 (I think, but need to check manual). I don't care what or who makes the carb, just need a basic reliable carb. No Racing etc, just puttering. I currently only have the cable with the round slide attached.
Don't care if its round if I know what other parts to get to  make it all function.

Thanks for help, and listening, gonna go chase more rabbits I guess.

Looking for a carb for 87 moto4 200. Just bought the machine and it’s got a Chinese one that’s not working right even after I cleaned it out. Looking for the original mikuni vm22sf.

So I decided to pick up a small trailer if I could get one for the right price.  I found this one for a few hundred bucks on Craig’s list.  It is  a galvanized trailer which is exactly what I was looking for. The wood was shot and needed some minor repairs which I could care less about as long as the chassis was good.
I striped it down and put a new deck on. I had some vinyl realtree graphics that I had laying around so I added them to the fenders which I think worked out well. Very happy with this little guy.
I'm having the iron workers at my jobmake me up a few lightweight side rails that will have a 22 degree bend in them to accommodate the tires that slightly hang over the edge and will incorporate some tie down points as well.

So i have a friend at work who was recently diagnosed with a small but very manageable heart problem.  He is in good shape but doc says he shouldn't be shoveling snow or anything crazy for a while until they figure this out. So he asked me to see what i can find him to plow since he has a good size piece of property.  So i spent the last two weeks scouring the local states to find him a good atv with a plow!

Found  him a big bear 400 4x4 with a plow for a steal!   Going to go through it good and put my touch on it and deliver it next week.

As much fun as we have with this quad thing its just as much fun helping others out!

Picked this beauty up for zero dollars this weekend. It has been passed around several of my son's friends and the last kid was just tired of tinkering with it.  Mostly complete 96 300FW. The pic is my boy robbing the swing arm and rear diff for his 300 for a big memorial weekend ride. Wiring is garbage at the battery, kick start doesnt work, no coil, smoked like cheech and chong when it ran last. I figure a couple hundred and a few hours and this will be ready to ride. Journey will be documented on Instagram at @martincyclellc if ya wanna follow along.
