So my sister gave me her old four wheeler for my boys.  I have put new car on it among other things but I cant figure out why the cooling fan isn't working.  I took it off and connected straight to the battery and it works fine, but when I put it back in the bike  it wont work.  Im sure its electrical is there an easy way to check that.

Welcome to Quadcrazy! So that fan should only come on when the engine gets hot enough.  It not supposed to run all the time.

1. Have you ran it long enough to see if that’s the case ?

2. It’s meant to turn on by a heat sending sensor that should be screwed into the head someplace.  Should have a single wire connected to it. When the fluid in the head gets hot enough that sensor kicks in and brings the fan on and will stay on even after you turn the bike off until it’s cool.   That could be bad. If your not sure take some pics and post them and we will point it out for you. You can take it out and clean the sending unit also  making sure the head is not clogged up with shit by the sensor.

3. Is there a light for the engine being to hot on the dash anywhere? A high temp light?

4. lastly have you checked all the fuses and connections for corrosion/dirt and unplugged sprayed contact cleaner and reconnected?

I bought this four-wheeler used for my son's birthday last week. It wasn't running when I got it but after a new battery and some tinkering it has been running for 5 days probably 8-10 hours of run time.

Today after 1 hour  My son wanted to wash it, I showed him how to be careful not getting water near the engine. We were careful but after we washed it and let it dry the motor starts but the transmission slips and won't really go forward.  Even if I pick the back of the four wheeler up the wheels only go forward a tiny bit. It's as if something is slipping inside.   But it worked fine right before the wash.

Not sure what brand. I was told it was 90 cc's the VIN is attached.  Is it 90 or 110ccs?
No air filter came with it. Using a some old stockings until I figure out what air filter to order.
My son is so bummed so I want to get it back up to speed but also teach him how to work on it.

      Hello Guys!
Dumb question. How much oil registers on the oil level gauge while running? The oil level reads correct when off, but while running I can only see just a little bit in the oil level gauge. Makes wonder if the oil isn't circulating well enough.
Also, whats your preference in battery brands for ATV's (standard or AGM). We don't ride it all that often.
Thanks in advance for any info.

This bike has over $20k invested in work and time. It will go about 120 mph or more. With the other gear it will go about 60 mph. It rides great on and off road. It starts and runs Ok but after a while the temp gage lights up and the fan fails to start.  Any suggestions on where to start looking would be helpful.  Thanks
