Should be located under the seat.  There are two.  Right near the battery, one you can follow is the  red wire (positive) big wire should lead right to the starter solenoid, the second  relay will be right next to it and should have a plug with four smaller wires going onto it.

If it’s clicking it’s most likely working. Do some testing first.   Take a tester and put it on the relay lug that goes to the starter. Hit the start button and see if you get 12 volts. If so then it may be a a starter issue.  Like brushes or the starter itself. I will look up the part number and see if I can post it.

Could be a tired relay or bad brushes on the starter.

I would start by loosening the connections up on the starter relay clean them and re tighten them good.

Do the same thing on the starter wire on the starter. Then check the ground cable at the battery and where the black wire bolts to the frame.

If this does not clear up the problem then go with a new relay and a set of brushes. Might as well buy both, they are cheap enough.

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Hi guys, I was given a 2000 Honda Recon fourtrax 250 (I think that's the full name lol). The previous owner had it sitting for a while before I got it. It sat for another few years in my ownership. I got it up and going on its first test drive today!! I was wondering where everyone buys their parts from?  Coming from the car community, we have sites like RockAuto and many more. Anything like that for quads? Also would like to be pointed in a direction, if possible, for plastics. I am missing a few and would like to have it complete. I appreciate any input!

I've been hunting for a rebuild kit or aftermarket replacement without success. Any tips? The OEM replacement is too rich for my blood.
