I am looking to see why my 2005 Grizzly  660 won't crank. I have set the valves but suspect a loose timing chain.

When working to remove the valve cover I found a "cap tensioner case" - parts #25  - #299 on Babbitts site.

The  cover seems to bridge the valve cover and the cylinder head. What the hell is it and what surprises will I  find if I remove it?

Uncharted territory for me.

Past that now- it did crank with the plug out.

I pulled the valve cover. The cam gear is about a quarter turn out of time by the dimples when the timing mark is right on.

I have ordered a cam gear and timing chain and am about to go into the stator, rotor and starter gear.

New territory for me.

Are your valves okay? Yes. Go ahead and replace the chain and tensioner. Move your cam sprocket to in time. You may have to roll it back some because once the tensioner tightens it will roll your cams slightly

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

Yesterday I got a UForce 1000 as my first bike and I am wondering if there are any owners that could advise where I can find budget parts and accessories for it.
I tried looking StarknightMT, but the filtering is a bit unreliable, so direct links or exact names are much appreciated.
I'm mostly interested in sliders and side cases, but any advices for "must haves" are welcomed.
      Thank you!

Guys, I've got a 1999 Honda Foreman 450S.  It runs great, but smokes out the exhaust after startup until it warms up.  I'm thinking the valve seals are leaking.  I was wondering if there is a way to replace them without removing the head or if there's an oil additive that will recondition the rubber seals.  Any advice?
