2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 Bogging Out in Reverse

Hello bought my 2000 polaris sportsman 500 last week bike seems to work pretty good untill yesterday, when in reverse the bike seems to start bogging out? How come?

hey @Aaron Drost welcome to the forum.  the reason your sportsman is bogging in reverse is a safety feature installed by polaris- see below

 

Polaris has incorporated a safety feature on all their 4wd models. This feature, which is operational all the time when reverse is selected, will limited engine power and cut out the front wheel drive unless you push the “override” button.

the reverse override is a yellow button on your left handlebar switch pod along with the headlight selector and kill switch.  hope this helps!
