I have a Yamaha Timberwolf 250 2x4 that I purchased a while ago as a project. I fixed it up to where everything was working great in my opinion, however when I showed it to a potential buyer he complained about a vibration from the rear drive shaft. (Which I ridiculous seeing as he tried to wheelie it before that) Anyways I took the rear diff apart and found most of the seals and bearings where bad. So I bought a kit off of amazon only to find that it doesn’t have all of the bearings and seals. After finding that I decided to try to find a used good condition replacement but they’re all to expensive for me so is there a better alternative for me, or can someone point me in the right direction to get the rest of the parts?

Usually the cheap rebuild kits don't have the axle bearings, however the axle bearings are normally available at parts stores.  You probably have everything for the diff but missing stuff like bearing #9 below.  I've had great luck measuring the in/out/width on a bearing, hitting google to find a number to cross, and then calling the local parts store.  Bearings are only about $8 in a parts store and are pretty easy to find.

I got a allballs kit for the rear axle and it had three seals in the kit and two bearings. There was only 2 used when I took it apart and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out where the third seal would go. Anyone else come across town his with the allballs kits. Thanks

This was for a 1994 Yamaha Timberwolf

We have two 2021 850 XTP MAXX OUTLANDERS with nearly identical VINS. Both ATVS had the DPS error out the exact same week. Repair shop says need new DPS motors. How is that possible? Anyone else have DPS issues?

Fixing for a friend. Atv was at a different friends house to be fixed and he rebuilt the carb and had it running nice, then it shut off and no more. He replaced the key and the coil.

So he got busy, so I am helping, I checked the wiring from the stator to the cdi, and from the cdi to the coil. All is good. I checked resistance on the pickup coil, good, and on the source coil, open. I buy a new stator (China) and the 4 prong plug only has 3 wires in it while mine has all 4. I checked resistance in the source coil and it's in the 300's. I pulled one of the old pickup wires out of the old stator and wire it in the new one. Still no spark.

Why do the wires differ, I checked the VIN again and it's "J" for the year and I got a 1988 stator. Please help!

Good morning, I am new to the forum. I'm 75 years old and love getting ATVs back to usable condition. I particularly like the 2006-2009 Arctic Cat 250 Utility. I currently own 6. The 2006 I am working on only has reverse and low gear. The "drive shaft" in the transmission is completely stripped where the high gear would mesh. Has anyone on here replaced the shaft. I'm told I have to split the case. I was hoping that someone on here could let me know how hard it will be. I already have it stripped down to where the shaft coming in from the clutch side is the only thing left. I was hoping I could just remove the driven clutch and drive it out from there. Directions say different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
