2001 Kawasaki Prairie 300 2x4 carb questions

At least I think that's what it is, I can't find the vehicle sticker to be sure.  Anyway,  it wouldn't idle,  so I cleaned the carb as well as I could without removing it all the way. The wire harness on the bottom and the choke cable foiled me a bit. Now it idles, but it dies when I give it gas (throttle). 

I have it mostly disconnected again,  and noticed in the wiring at the bottom of the bowl there is a small metal tube like a thermocouple that has a top that's supposed to go into a small hole under the throat on the Engine side.  It was not in the hole.   What is this,  and could that have something to do with this problem?

      I’m having a issue with my choke when its on it runs fine when I cut the choke off the atv cuts off went to take the carburetor off and saw the choke plunger broke at the nut to screw it in could this be my issue? Do I just need to buy a plunger kit and put it on? I took the carburetor off and cleaned both jets anyway just to make sure and it’s still having issues staying on

      2003 Kodiak Leaking fuel from drain hose at bottom of carb

      I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
      The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
