Winch mounting location

I am thinking about adding a winch. Should I mount to the front or in tow hitch socket? Are there tow hitch versions for sale. I was wondering about pros and cons

If you're doing a front mount, try not to mount too high as this pulls down and buries you in the goo. If wanting to be able to use front and rear, I would look for removable mount like the small trailer hitches, and a heavy duty cable plug so you can just plug it in front or rear

I feel like if mounted in a socket it will be in the way, and also increase your overall length.

has anyone ever mounted to the rear of the quad.  I tend to need to pull out backwards and have a hard time with the winch on the front?
