Hi Everyone!

Recently, I could no longer start my Arctic Cat using the green starter button.
Initially, the response was intermittant (sometimes it would start and other times in wouldn't).
Finally, I get no response or sound by pressing the green button.

I'm trying desperately to trace the wires from the green button but can't seem to follow.
I took the button apart and cleaned the contacts but no difference (yet my instruments indicate contacts are OK).

I inserted an image to show the wiring colors going into the green switch.
I'm still able to start the machine by using a long screwdriver to short the starter.

I'm hoping someone can help me find a possible break in the wiring or any other cause.

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!

Jerry

Check to make sure you are getting voltage to the starter, if you touch the two posts on the soloenoid together with a screwdriver the starter shouuld rotate. If it doesnt and you have voltage it might be a starter issue, try tapping the starter lightly with a hammer and see if it turns, or makes any sounds. If you went to the starter directly you completely bypassed the switch.

Sorry i misread your post, i thought it wasnt starting by touching the post on the soloenoid, you should have a starter cutout relay that can go bad, it should be a black box close to your fuse box, and check fuses also, there is one attached to the soloenoid. You can trace the wires and check for continuity on the wires, orange white and yellow green wires to check for a break.

Hi guys, I have a 2004 big bear 400. Last winter while plowing the driveway, I heard a loud pop from the left side of the engine. It continued to run as I looked for leaky fluid, but then died shortly after backing it up and won’t start now. The oil light comes on when I try to start it, no noise or anything else.
No blown fuses that I can find.

      Hi all,
Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.
