hi im new to this but have done oil drains on my dirt bike

but I took wrong drain bolt out of my quad.: Ive emotied the gear box oil and what appears to be my chain tensioner part. Drained oil out both plugs thinking it was my engine oil!!

I’ve refilled the gear oil from a oil point and not the engine oil as I’ve done that through the dipstick refill point… im just really worried about the oil that came out the tensioner part .. will there be a refill point for that separate from gear oil refill. Ives struggled for 4 days for information and goung round the bend..  Chinese quad is a 10ten 180 RXR

please if someone could answer this as I’m worried to run the quad until I’m sure I don’t need to find another fill point for the tensioner part ?

Yes all are just a joke.. it’s taken me a week for help and information. I filled the gear oil up and have since rode and all seems ok.. plus I used chatGPT and that seemed to have the answer.  I purchased 2 brand new quads from a company that in my eyes are absolutely useless and dont even know what to do…. Plus getting any work done on these quads is going be near impossible as I’ve found out that nobody wants to touch Chinese quads

cheers as if I would of known tgis id have got a different brand!!!!

I have seen some that are very well built, the biggest problem is finding parts and you are right nobody wants to work on them because its a hassel getting parts and they dont want to fool with it. They should do fine if you treat them right, dont know what kind of work you are doing with them but did notice one had a chain which is more for speed than hard work.

Yea they seem pretty good … but not 1 person could tel me it will be ok and the gear oil will feed oil back into the chain tensioner bolt to which I drained by mistake aswell as the gear oil… been riding again today so all seems ok so far

Least I wont drain my engine oil from the wrong drain now I guess haha

I don't think that is a chain tensioner. The bung with a spring and ball will be going into the gearbox and the ball keeps it in one gear once you have changed gear. The ball presses into a detent in a shaft.

Ohhh really.. so the company that sold me thede quads aimt even sure haha… so why would there be two drain plugs at bottom?? The engine is drained from the side of bottom as I’ve done tgis now!!

but if u saying that it’s the gear

what is the second bolt I undone then? Oil had been drained from 3 parts on this machine now ha

How many fill plugs are there? is there a separate fill for the oil and transmissions?

Thats crazy there should be one that drains it all probably the one in the center. But i have never seen one so shouldnt be commenting.

Tell me about it. Oil came out both of these from under quad. Then engine oil came out of another drain which was on the lower side…

I’ve ridden it twice since filling it up with engine oil which is not no concern!!

but it was the two from underneath.. I filled the gear oil up using a syringe and tube.. im guessing that has filled the both compartments that i mistakenly drained …. Sure the engine woukd of gone by now rite? Id say about 60 minutes or more of running and riding ?

I'm in the middle of repairing damage from the chain coming off of this from the previous owner. (I learned this is somewhat common on these for various reasons.)
What are you guys using to either help keep the chain correct and on the sprocket or guarding your engine in the case that it comes off / breaks?
Is there an upgraded guard that can bolt around the sprocket in replacement of the currently broken OEM alluminum?

      Hey everyone,
I’m having an issue with my 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 – the engine keeps stalling after running for about 10–15 minutes. I’ve checked the air filter, spark plug, and fuel lines, but can’t seem to find the root of the problem. It starts up just fine, but then loses power suddenly.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this model/year? Would appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips you’ve tried that worked. Thanks in advance for your help!

Which is more reliable? Shaft or chain drive?

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time
      Bill

I have Grizzly 700 that has been pretty much totaled out in a bad accident, but it will still run and drive good...
Will this engine swap into any of the Yamaha UTV's like thr rhino and Viking 700's?
Was just going to sell it as is for a engine for someone who needs one pretty cheap..but been thinking about getting a UTV for the family and maybe find one with a blown engine cheap and swap it out
I already an excellent shape 2001 Big Bear 400 4x4 for us..but kinda been looking for a good used UTV for us and the grandkids on our property to play with
Not sure of the year..i can't remember what year it was when i picked it up for a buddy a few years ago..he went to jail after he totaled this thing and told me to pick up a few things at his house he was renting and just keep them for myself since he owed me a bunch of money before the landlord sent them to the dump...
The first picture is when i went and picked it up for him..second is how it is now..frame is all twisted up and plastics are fubarred..going to sell the rims and tires.they stick out way too wide on my Big Bear
