taking off in high it feels like it wants to lift the front tires off the ground

its a 1998/27 year old machine, im just going to call it good enough.

thanks for your help

Try turning the heaadlights on and see if it revs better. And check the charging and regulating. That can make them sound like a rev limiter but usually at much lower revs.

the head lights are not hooked up right now, at idle it would show 13.5v and when revved the volts would drop to 13.1v. coil pick up was 120 ohms(100 to 200), the 3 yellow wires 0.6 ohms (0.1 to 1.0). ignition coil primary resistance was 0.5 ohms and secondary was 19,800 ohms (12,000 to 20,000) i was going to have a good look at the jet needle to see if there is a number on it and to move the clip to different positions

it has the right 5d40 jet needle. the jet needle has 5 grooves for the clip its supposed to be in the 4th groove but nothing says groove from top or groove from bottom, tried them all and its at the 2nd from top of carb or 4th groove from bottom. the battery was brand new when i tested the running voltage before so it was sucking some voltage topping up its charge. right now its 14v at motor hot idle and 13.7v under throttle. i think its supposed to have 160 psi compression and its at 110 psi, like i said im just going to be happy with how it is

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

It seems every ATV i look at to buy used has no title, does everyone loose there title, or do they change hands so often the title is lost in the shuffle. The ones that do have titles are triple the price. I am new to buying used quads is this pretty standard procedure.
I know all quads are good and tough but thought it might be good to hear opinions as to what member think is the best, from your experiences.
